| Join us to hear Ed Lotterman & Dr. David Vang provide an informed, practical analysis of the current state of our economy and what this means for you. Television news’s talking heads sell drama. Beyond their hype, we are all affected and concerned about which way to turn. In such a climate it can be challenging to distinguish fact from exaggeration and reason from speculation. From this discussion you will gain a better understanding of what’s happening to people and businesses in today’s economy – and what you can expect – so you can better plan for your future. Ask our speakers questions and engage with others in a dialogue relevant to all aspects of your life. |

| Building Winning Working Relationships |
 |
| Date: 07/15/2008 |
 |
Program Overview
Maximize your people-reading skills
Within the first several minutes of interacting with other people you tend to "size them up." This natural and instinctive people reading guides your attitudes about and relations with others. However, problems can arise if your people reading is based upon what you believe others should be instead of who they really are. This seminar shows you how to avoid clouding your perceptions with your own behavioral and motivational preferences. It is a must for anyone who wants to get off to the right start in building key work relationships.
Following this course you will be able to:
• Understand the causes of nonproductive interaction
• Identify your own work behavioral tendencies and motivation satisfiers
• Profile the personal characteristics and needs of others
• Use information about others to customize your approach
• Develop strategies for more productive interaction

| Project Control and Closure |
 |
| Date: 08/14/2008 |
 |
Program Overview
Learn the steps for successfully controlling and then closing a project
Project control is that element of a project that keeps it on-track, on-time, and within budget. Project control begins early in the project with planning and ends late in the project with post-implementation review, having a thorough involvement of each step in the process.
Once a project has been completed, the manager's duties turn from control to closing. During closing, stakeholders must be notified, the project needs to be formally accepted, resources released, file archived, evaluations completed, and reports generated.
This course describes strategies for project managers to control a project successfully and refreshes the sustainable approach developed during project controlling. It also provides an overview of closing, an often-overlooked component of a project's lifecycle.
Following this course you will be able to:
• Manage integrated change against established baselines: scope, schedule, and budget
• Manage human resources and conduct project performance reporting
• Carry out risk monitoring and control
• Maintain the project database to benefit from on-going lessons learned
• Summarize and classify previously documented lessons learned, including causes of activities leading to schedule changes, types of schedule changes, reasons for selecting specific corrective actions, and classification of schedule change causes for further analysis
• Implement transition activities to return resources to parent organization
